Has anyone replaced the fan with a quiet fan to calm the noise levels down?

I am getting an average cpu temp of 50-60 degree during general usage and ramps up to 89 when playing intense games like bf3
The issue is the fan noise level which can be a touch annoying...

i don“t think you will find a fan which fits in the m14x reducing the noise.
its absolutely normal you get a high noise while playing grafic intense applications on a such small laptop.

i can recommend you to buy a notebook cooler to reduce heat (i get max 60-65 degrees with the zalman 3000u)

    Hmm good idea

I am getting 45-55 on balanced or power saving power option for normal usage
and up to 89 when playing bf3 without a cooling pad

are those tempretures normal for a non cooled laptop? do you get simialr results ?

    Thanks

yes thats normal with turbo boost on.
you can go to the bios(press F2 while booting) and disable turbo boost, maybe you have a few fps less but the cpu will not get that hot anymore.
then when you combine that with a notebook cooler i think your temps will not pass 70 degrees anymore

Also, lift the back of your laptop a bit, it will improve airflow.

Thanks guys. I turned off turbo boost and put rubber pad feet to lift up the laptop. Results.
During BF3 Fan kicks hard and temp hovers around 75 degrees
Normal usage is around 50 degrees
GPU 60 Degrees during BF3 40 Degrees with normal use

    Hope these are normal :)

    thanks

There's definitely room for improvement but those values are not to be worried about.
