That's a little crazy its not even like your specs are anything crazy just looks to be slightly upgraded. If I were you I would talk to them about getting bumped up to Next Day Shipping and get some money returned to you for your trouble.

Thanks for the sentiment. I plan on doing both, but would be happy with just getting next-day shipping. If money was a major issue, I wouldn't have bought an Alienware in the first place.

I'm about to travel for a bit, and really want to have it for the trip. However, if it's not here in time for me to load it up and take it to Quakecon, I seriously WILL cancel the order or return it.

EDIT -- I just called Customer Service yet again. The tech said that they were waiting on parts, but they aren't waiting any longer, so I should get it on or before 7/27. I told him that wasn't enough info (considering I've been told a lot of incorrect stuff in the past couple of weeks), so I asked if he could bump up the shipping on it. He ended up giving me free Next Business Day shipping. So at least there's that. Well, assuming he didn't lie to me.

well they gave me 5 day shipping before i fought and got NBD shipping and it got updated immediately (just letting you know)...hopefully yours gets updated tomorrow...also after the NBD ...my estimated date was 21st but i got it two days earlier...so hang in thr rbo...........We are all with you

 

Update! -- The website still showed "7 Day Shipping" so I called them yet again. The tech said that their "tools" were not working yesterday, which is why the system didn't show the NBD ship status (YEAH RIGHT). He said it's working now, and he made the change to NBD, and it should reflect on the site in 4 to 5 hours.

I've been lied to by these people so many times now, I don't know what to believe anymore. Guess I'll check the site at the end of my work day and see if I was lied to yet again. I got this tech's name though, so there's that.

EDIT -- The Order Status says Next Business Day! Now c'mon and ship already!

UPDATE 7/21-Contacted Order Support and found out more details. I got lucky and connected to a great rep! He explained that Dell Manufacturing was hit with lots o' orders and ran out of parts to build the laptops. He did specify that the one I ordered was a deal that a lot of customers took part of. Whatever. He then tels me the laptop is in final stages and will be shipped 7/22. I asked if shipping could be update and sooooooo...maybe by Monday!

That's good news! Unfortunately for me, I will be traveling for work next Monday through Wednesday. I sincerely hope they don't leave it sitting outside on my porch in this Texas heat, to either melt or get stolen. My g/f will have to pick it up, I guess. Either way, I expect your unboxing video to post well before mine.

EDIT -- I'm on the phone with them now. The tech told me the status is about to be delayed again to an 8/2 delivery. I flipped out and demanded to speak to someone who can give me more information. I'm on hold and this different tech is checking into what is specifically causing the delay. It's taking every bit of energy I have not to yell at this person.

EDIT #2 -- Because of some supposed incorrect part number on the wireless card, my order has continued to be kicked around in their system. No fault of my own, and if I hadn't called them and raised a fuss, it would probably continue to be kicked around. Why did this affect me and not any of you? I have no idea. I ordered the mid-tier wireless card (6205), but I can't imagine that I'm the only one. Who knows if I'm being lied to yet again? On top of that, no one would tell me why the previous four techs all said there would be no further delays after 7/27. I'm extremely pissed off about it, but this is the laptop I want, otherwise I'd just cancel and get an Asus instead.

They are now replacing the order in their system, and my estimated ship is now 8/2. I'm getting a discount for my troubles, and free Next Business Day shipping (again). If it doesn't ship on that date, I will cancel the order altogether.

 

Finally got Dell to accept my international debit card!!

They either gave me NBD shippjng or I had it originally and ive gotten that I'd added it lol

Ordered the 6205 aswell, however as I've been having other troubles with payment I've either missed or have yet to discover any production issues. Hoping I won't have any, I'm desperate for a laptop, the iPad can't do as much as I need.

Well, I ordered mine on July 1st, with an arrival date of July 15th.

Still no M14X delivered to my door yet. Checked the order status. Says it is still "in production" with an updated status of "July 29th". Hmm.

At least the backpack I ordered at the same time already has arrived.

Crikey! Ordered m14x 15th july for 10th august delivery, expected delivery changed to 25th July! Very happy, tracking shows it's on the way!

I am so pissed at the long wait for my freaking latop. I chatted them like 100 times and told me they couldnt do anything. One even lied to me and said it already shipped. Yea right -__-. So i finally called them today and the rep said he would request faster shipping.. but i highly doubt it.... really dissapointed... i should be getting nbd and atleast 50 bucks T_T.... not to mention a Dell Rep hacked my Dell account and tried to order himself a Inspiron 15x and ship it to himself... luckily i use paypal and no credit card... That got me really pissed but i didnt do anything ..... i should so sue ....

I ordered mine on 20th July (in UK) and on 22nd July it went from In production to Shipped.. I wonder how many days it will take for them to complete the shipping .. so excited.. can't wait for it now.. .. First thing I am going to try is Wireless Display thingy.. it will be awesome if I can get that to work.. .. I got the lowest processor spec (2.0 GhZ with 6 MB Cache), is it something to be worried about? got a 3 GB Graphics card.. .

Just got delayed from 7/26 to 8/1

As i chose the 6205 , I'm going to call today and see if that's what's causing the problem and if so, change to a 6250 to get a faster ship date.

Was really looking forward to it coming on Tuesday

 

Not only did my ship date change but my whole order was canelled and resubmitted. The best explaination they gave me was related to the HD transmitter and driver issue as well as the part that was installed was not compatible?

PS If they redo your order DOUBLE CHECK each item. The resubmitted mine with the lower res screen. HAd to call and correct it. This is bad...

 

Your shipped email from dell tells you when you should get it.

Mine still says 8/3. Perhaps it's because I not only replaced my entire order again, but I told them if it doesn't arrive by 8/3 that I would cancel it altogether?

Judging by the estimated dates, I might win this one. 8/1 is hopefully the day.

However judging by dells reputation for anything happening on time, it will probably be at least 2 weeks before I get to hold the small mothership

All are welcome to attend the first DDDA (Dell Delayed Delivery Anonymous) meeting, I am gabe406 and I have a delayed order. At first I thought I could handle it but I was wrong. Anyone else?

 

We can't be the only ones. Others are posting in other threads, and then there's THIS. "Usually ships in one to three months?" Insane. And that's the i5 version, which I can't imagine too many people are buying.

 

That bites, not gloating but I ordered an m14x on 18th July and waiting in today for delivery- 7 day turnaround so impressed with Dell for this order, annoyed UPS not turned up though

 

Which wireless card did you order? It looks like people who chose the mid-level one (6205) are having the delays.

 

Mine came with the 6250 Wireless. The one thing I noticed new on the orders was this:

To have Dell reissue a new order, something major had to change. Yet I do not see any other differences than that. Did yours come with wireless HD transmitter?

 

I did not order the wireless HD.

Good catch. I didn't notice this difference. I'd ordered the 6205 wireless card, but now have the following listed:

"1 430-4102 Intel Advanced-N WiFi Link 6250 a/g/n 2x2 MIMO Technology with WiMax
1 421-6497 Alienware M14X WIDI Software"

So they bumped me up to the higher wireless card, although I don't really have a need for the WiMax. Not sure what the WIDI software is. Guess I'll need to do a quick Google search.

 

I went for the killer wireless card- and it's just turned up thanks to UPS- only been waiting in for 7 hours...now to unbox

 

Weird. I just got a call from Dell, but they gave me no new information, and my M14x is still scheduled to deliver on 8/3. I guess that was my case manager, making himself extremely useful.

Literally had an identical call this morning, about it still being on time for 8/1....

I just checked my order online and it still states that i have a 6205 wifi card. Would be cool if it was upgraded to the 6250, even though i have no use for WiMax...

 

Just looked at my order it was supposed to be delivered on 8/3 but it is actually going to be here on 7/27 I just got tracking tonight.

I got the Killer wireless card so it must be you guys with the mid level Intel card that's the holdup.

Wow, looks fantastic ^^. Does the Nebula Red look good with colors other than red for the keyboard? Because I think red and orange or green keys would be wierd, which is why I'm opting for black. More neutral.

 

I don't think it looks that weird in different colors, if only because when you're working on it, you barely see any of the Nebula Red at all. In a dark room, it makes no difference. However, I can see why you'd want to go with the black one. If they made a navy blue one, I would've went that way instead (my favorite color), but I'm switching the keys to blue and it looks okay to my eyes. I guess I could make it red, white, and blue and really Captain America the hell out of it, LOL.
