Windows experience Index is a sh!t, at least post all results, because it's based on the lower result so alone it means nothing.

Lowest index is always GT555M, which comes in at 5.9

5.9 is probably the HDD. I think I've seen somewhere the 555M gets like 6.7 and the processor is like a 7.0

Yes 555 do not get 5.9 it's maybe desktop graphics so intergrated chipset used by optimus when you are not gaming.

Windows Experience Index means absolutely nothing unless you look at all the components. Also, the graphics card does not have a single score. There's a "graphics" score and a "gaming graphics" score.

I moved things over to get the image to be less than 500px wide, but all the information is there. That's the score for my M14x, which has all stock options except for the 1600x900 screen. That score was taken on 4/29. Interestingly, my memory (RAM) score dropped to 7.6 when I reran the test just now, but it may have been because I was doing other stuff during the test.

Note: It's possible that setting the system to use the GT 555m all the time could improve the 5.9 graphics score, or it may not. Honestly, there's no reason to try either way, as you're not going to get Aero to run any better than it already does.

Yes if you setting the system to use the GT 555m the Desktop performance for windows aero will be the same as the gaming graphics.

What are your specs, Mike? You're clearly not running the basic stock options.
Also, did you set the GT 555m to be always on before running the test?

Is it just me or do everyone not running an SSD get 5.9 for hard disk, and I mean everyone. I have 5.9 on my 500GB ASUS laptop.

Yeah I think all SATA II 7200rpm will get 5.9, it's the same on my desktop PC. I'll increase if you get a 10000rpm maybe an hybrid hard drive or a SSD.

I set my global setting in the Nvidia control panel to "High performance Nvidia graphics card" and I still only got 5.9 for Aero graphics. I saw some other settings that may improve that score, but I don't really want to run WEI over and over again right now.

How did you get 6.9 for Aero graphics?

There is probably a way to set Aero or WEI into the whitelist of the GPU.

I'm asking the same question. How do you do this? My WEP out of the box is only 5.7

    i7 2630 6gb ram 1.5gb gt555

The low score is due to windows aero using intel HD. Does anybody know how to switch it to use GT555?

Mine was 5.9 initially, it's weird that yours is only 5.7. Once I got lucky and the GPU was running when I ran the test, so I got the 6.9....don't know how to set it to run manually though...hmm

Let me do a driver update and see how it goes. I have mcafee running in the background, does that matter?

My 3dmark 06 with stock config is 12285.

I know it's not the ideal benchmark for this sort of thing, but the pictures a few posts above show that the 3gb graphics card gets the exact same score as the 1.5 gb graphics card.

I think the RAM affects the Aero Desktop performance score while on the IGP, my system has 8GB RAM and ´Graphics´score is 6.9. Definitely do not have default GPU as the GT 555M.

with minimal overclocking the gt555m will reach 7.1, but without an SSD your HDD score will always stick at 5.9, even with a hybrid or a 10000RPM drive wont go higher.

You get two scores because one is the Intel HD chipset and the other is the 555m.
