So i have a few questions as my CPU is running at around 90C which is not good,

I have some compressed air coming, tomorrow so ill giveit a good clean but it doesn't seem that dusty,

so i think i mat need to repaste it.

    Questions,

Can i do it as a novice?

    How much is it?

Is there a video at all? or a tutorial?

where can i buy the goods?

Also is this covered by warranty i have around 30 days left, and will they come to do it in the UK?

    thanks, jack.

This is generally covered under warranty, as long as you do not damage other components. But for a novice, tearing a M14x apart is no simple task, because of its highly vertical design (components are stacked on top of each other, and you have to basically rip the entire thing apart to get to a CPU) due to its 14" form factor.

There are many disassembly guides for the M14x available already.

Id just deal with the heat lol. Many people on here have done successful re-pastes, and results were like 5-8 degrees at the most, some have even gotten worse temps after the repaste. But it depends whether or not they over coated your cpu with paste, which is probably likely. But i believe the main problem is that they packed an i7 into it without having a big enough heatsink, stronger fan, or adequate airflow design.

I think you'd need intermediate skills as well as a little luck to do a successful repaste.

    There's the teardown guide.

If you have an i7, maybe you can buy a cheap i5 from ebay, and change it out. You really wont see a huge different in performance, but heat would be lower.

Having extra threads and the like can make a big difference in things other than gaming, you know.

I agree, I was addressing the main problem which is from the i7 processor. Maybe its a bad paste job thats attributing, but it wouldn't bring temps lower than 85 at load with repaste i think.
