    Hey Folks!

Tomorrow big day, I will turn my m14x R1 from 6 tot 16 gigs.
And soon its time for an SSD to keep my laptop still as one of the fastest laptops in the universe.

But now I use 750 gig 7200 rpms . And already I use like 360 gigs. I have over 3170 songs (I brought those over the last 5 years on Itunes for my Ipod 64 gig touch) That includes 30 Movies. Over 25.000 photo's (I travel like 6 months an year. And I do carry an HD camera most of the times with me)

Al these data I dare to store on my alien ware. Of course I do backup the most of it on an external disk, and I strongly suggest that everybody would do that. But to put all these data on my laptop it shows that I do trust the firmware Alien ware. And of course if something might happen: what you ever brought on I tunes u can download as many times as you want. That is why I buy my music it gives me my ownership warranty and it is always accessible trough Itunes.

As well for my MMO I love star trek (the best looking 3d game in my opinion) on line Battlefield 3 and Magic The gathering. Especially he last 2 games because it has alien ware fx effects build in the game. And those games store your game data online. So nothing would happen if my laptop might be stolen or got last or broken or has taken an holiday on its own back to mars or anything. Those games as well contains over 100 gigs,

So all in all I need ad least 400 gigs. But the prices are insanely high for Windows computers to use SSD. Mac has already included ssd in all their books and all their other crap they sell. Now I see allot of videos on youtube people building in ssd's within 5 minutes. And their laptop has become's an monster that eats an whole windows booting screen in 10 seconds. The first thoughts are like !! Me want !! when I see those vids. Till I see that it are like 150 or 200 gigs. I need ad least double for my data. I travel and I need access to all my data anywhere.

But I am not gonna just trowh 750 euros for an 500 gigs ssd yet. I think thats a litle absurd prices. But I just know that they cannot keep that price up for so long. Tech blogs are screaming about 10 TB end next year if we survive 2012. But on the other hand I could divide my space on external hard disks and buy an 300 gigs or something.....

Tell me do u use ssd? How much space you use? And how does it work with you? Are you fully happy with it? Is it an must?
I really want to buy one U need to convince me :) S.V.P

Was not good, my intel 320 SSD caused constant boot problem and eventually after about 8 months had the firmware bug occur just from simply removing the power cord with a charged battery which crippled my OS.

Just gave up on the SSD HDD combo after that.

Mine has NEVER been an issue. I've had mine for 18 months now? With the 128GB SSD and a big platter drive for my data. I've got 16GB ram, and I plan to make this beast last another 18 months.
