So I thought i'd try to get windows 7 booting in UEFI mode on my M14x R2 however the install dvd just hangs at a half loaded windows logo on the starting windows screen.

Has anyone managed to get this to work or has Dell completely failed to implement UEFI correctly into the BIOS so it won't work with anything other than Windows 8?

Do you have secure boot disabled?

Secure boot is disabled yes. Seems to me like the UEFI implementation doesn't support anything other than windows 8!
