So I'm new to this forum and was wondering about how well does the M14x R2 work with the emulator and games? Does it stay at 60fps? Games like Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and Valkyrie Profile 2. I'm talking about the i7-3630QM version by the way.

I've only tried a gamecube emulator on a M14x R2 (i7-3820QM) and it worked pretty well, locked at 60fps. I think an ivy bridge CPUs should be able to take on PS2 emulators without a problem.

With a 3610QM version I can play Nocturne at full speed. There is a lot of blur in the game but it runs ok. Some other like Timesplitters 1&2 (the ones I play most) runs almost flawlessly, but when you get issues depends on the emulator itself and not the R2.

Hi,
Using the newest version of PCSX2 I can play most ps2 games (that I have tried) amazingly, and this is on an M1.
I played FFX, FFXII, Rogue Galaxy, Odin Sphere, Dark Cloud1/2 and Suikoden 3 (sorry for the list). All of them worked great with a little tinkering within the emulator - although rogue galaxy slows down in a few places. Valkyria would be fine!
If you need some advice I'm happy to help or you can get on google, most games have been discussed on the PCSX2 forums.

Hey guys I'm back. Thanks for your help. One more question, should I call Dell to repaste the M14x or should I just get it WITHOUT repasting? I heard the PCSX2 will give you a high temperature and I'm not sure what to do.

I don't think that the repaste will be done under the warranty unless there is overheating already present. Try the emulator while checking the temperatures like this.
