Why does the m14x not have an ATI/AMD graphic card option? Is the card upgradeable like the m15x?

Moreover, why does the m14x get wireless HD options, while the M17x (which was promised the same thing) still doesn't have it as an option? Why does the m14x get better sound? C'mon dell............

$100 for a worthless GPU upgrade, $200 for a 2x4GB RAM upgrade which runs $80 at retail, $50 for the Intel 6250...

Dell is in rare form on this one.

As long as the public remains ignorant, retailers will be able to do pretty much what they want.

Well, there /are/ two models of the GT 555M, one with GDDR 3 and one with GDDR5. Both have similar theoretical performance, but maybe that's the $100 difference in the cards?

    GeForce GT 555M

Granted, it doesn't help given Dell's lack of specs on their site.

Very dissapointed with the GPU option, that rules this unit out for me.

There's actually 4 of them, that we know of right now.

    144 shaders, 192-bit DDR3
    144 shaders, 128-bit GDDR5
    144 shaders, 128-bit DDR3
    96 shaders, 128-bit, GDDR5

    1.5/3GB options = 192-bit

    We've seen no 192-bit GDDR5 version, yet.

I know the info was released but was hoping for more than one option AND if you look at the M15x now it has no gpu option what is Dell doing? Why are there no AMD gpu options?
I'll be waiting for more Gpu options before i buy one. they did this with the M15x my first one had the GTX 260m and it was horrible compared to later options with the 5850 amd part like my son's.

No, because it's soldered to the motherboard.
