    Just a heads up really,

    Bought Kingston Hyper X 8GB 1600Mhz ram it for my M14x, during install I found that it wouldn't fit in the top ram slot. The photos below explain;

    When I tried to install it, it would look like this
    [IMG]

    After a bit of fiddling and trying to force it in, I realized that it was the rear heatsink that was pushing against the lower slot, this meant that the clips wouldn't close properly. (The lower slot has enough room to keep both heatsinks on). So to fix it, I slowly peeled the rear heatsink off the ram. It was stuck down with some kind of glue, it didnt damage the underlying ram, But I would suggest doing it slowly as it is stuck down pretty well.

    And having removed the rear heatsink, it now fits nice and snug :cool:

    Just figured I'd post this in case anyone else is wondering why their ram that has heatsink's won't fit properly ;)

    I have the exact same RAM in my M14x and it fits perfectly, maybe the clip are slightly bent or something?

    I have the same RAM and it also had a problem with snapping nicely into place, but I got it in there well enough and it works fine. :)

    You know SubScriptZero this isnt the first time I have heard this problem. I too had the same issue with mine, but i didnt have to peel anything off. I just had to mess with it for a while and after about 25 mins. I got it to fit. I did have to manually close the tabs though holding my ram in place. Glad to see you got it working! Thanks for the heads up.

    To easily remove the heatspreaders for whatever reason use a hairdryer in the future. But they should fit as they have to follow some standards ;)
