I've had my M14x since late August, and has been working with no problems up until now. It will shut off the instant I unplug it, and will not turn off when unplugged. When plugged in, it works fine, but the battery meter stays at 76%, and says "plugged in, not charging".

I don't know what could have caused it, other than there was a storm a few days ago, and the power went out for a couple of seconds. I don't think that it would have killed the battery, but I can't rule out the possibility.

If the battery is ruined, will the accidental damage warranty cover it?

    Thanks!

Accidental damage covers pretty much everything, call in for a new battery, and see if you can't get some other free stuff by complaining a ton.
