    Hello,
After only 1 week of owning my alienware I have noticed that its considerably looser. First day I got it I thought it was the stiffest hinge system I have seen (Which is good) but not just typing makes the screen wiggle. Its not that big of an issue but if it continues to get looser that would be an issue.

Anyone know if this is a know issue or if your experiencing the same problem?

    -Thanks!

it's a loose hinge if you consider wiggling while typing as a problem... it does wiggle a bit but not as far as about 5mm max...

If it gets to be bothersome or becomes somehow damaged, I'd give dell a call and have them come out and replace the hinge. I've had mine since last April and the entire screen assembly has been replaced at least twice due to other issues. The screen wiggles a little bit, but I almost like a little bit of give so its easy to close. ;)

The thing is I dont want to be calling dell every time there is a problem I actually need this laptop for school. Is this hinge problem an actual issue, will it degrade?

You can get them to ship the parts to you and have a dell tech install them on site. No need to send it anywhere. though if its not a big deal now you can just leave it and if it gets worse over time get it fixed.
