I have an M14xR1, recently it became very slow while doing simplest tasks and I am not even gaming on it anymore, plus it almost doesn’t have any heavy software installed.
It’s also freezing occasionally (having to press the power button to shut it down).

    things i’ve tried:

    *Restoring the factory image
    *Installing Windows 10
    *Installing Windows 8,8.1
*Installing the drivers from dell’s website
    *Repasting the CPU and GPU
    *Brand New HDD

    none of that work.

any suggestions to what might be causing this issue?

    thanks

Do not install drivers from Dell. Install only OSD driver and sound driver from Dell and the rest install from manufacturers. This laptop model has a SATA speed limiter to use its full power you need to unlock the laptop bios. As I unlocked the bios in my m14x r2 I felt a great difference. There is more efficiency. I would recommend SSD system drive, it's a pity that in r1 there is no mSATA because then you could buy ssd on mSATA and on it system and on HDD data on SATA.

And if you do not want to compile then simply upload the latest bios.
