    Hi Everyone,

Sorry if this is a repost (I try to do as much research as possible before I go starting a new thread), but i'm having a litttle trouble with my M14x gt 555m and the program MSI afterburner.

When I move the clock sliders to the desired amounts (safe clock at the moment to try things out: Core: 700, Shader: 1400, Memory: 1000) and then i hit apply, it just moves the sliders back to the default clocks. Also if i slide the bars to the same settings and save the profile it doesn't look like it's saving at all and it still doesn't apply.

At the moment i'm using the NVIDIA 275.33 driver package (i've heard some people are having problems with the new 280's so i haven't bothered yet till NVIDIA get there stuff together) could someone point out what i'm doing wrong, or maybe i've over looked a setting or something?

Any help would be great appreciated folks,

    Cheers,
    Brett

I had the same exact problem not too long ago, i'm trying to remember how i got it to work. Maybe i'll try to duplicate the problem you're having.

    Things to Check/Try:
-Try to white-list the program (Right click, Click Nvidia, click 3D button, and then click add and find the .exe)
-Make sure you installed the 275.33 drivers right. I am currently using those drivers. Also, get the modded .inf file from laptopvideo2go, or make it on your own, there are tutorials for that here and on youtube.
-Start a game or something that uses the gt 555m. Make sure that you can see the gpu usage % on the graph on MSI so you know something is running the 555m. Ones it starts using it, THEN try adjusting the clocks by A LITTLE, ONLY ONE TIME. ex. just slide the core clock over by 1. Don't want to make big changes while in game. Now hit apply and see if it worked.

If these things don't work, don't despair, because it happened to me; and you'll find a way to get it to work :)

    Thanks champ,
The white-listing of the program fixed that :)

now just one more question i've done the clock that I mentioned above, played for 30 minutes in world of tanks, no graphical glitches \ problems at all. But what is a safe degrees to run at for the GPU? my highest was at 62 degrees celsius , is this fine for the GPU?

Any input is happily received :)

    Cheers Brett

You're more than fine if your highest is 62C. Just don't play it on your lap cuz it might cook some eggs. :s Have you considered repasting your CPU and GPU?
