No I haven't tried them yet, No I don't know if they will make you go faster.

They look promising, I'm going to try later with them. I am most excited about the new AA method, hopefully it finds support in more games, I want to see what it looks like.

Sorry for having to ask, but how do you use nvwi.inf as a modded inf? I haven't used modded inf's since nv_disp.inf

Otherwise, can anyone explain to me how to install these? Of course it doesn't have the Alienware version of the 650M supported by this driver.

Same question would apply to 304.48

laptopvideo2go.com provides pre-modified inf files. I was able to use their files to install 304.48, but my laptop (m14xr2) would bluescreen at launch. I just downloaded 304.79 and they are installing as I type (without any modified inf files!).

I will post back here in a few minutes if I am able to reboot successfully, but won't have time to do thorough testing in game today.

edit: Installed and rebooted just fine. I'm not seeing Adaptive Vsync listed in the control panel though.

304.79 natively support GT 650M. Successful install without inf modding :D

For me it doesnt work. It says cant find compatible grafic card. What did the trick for you? I got the exact same system as you.

    M14x R2 i7-3610qm gt 650m 2gb gddr5

edit: nvm got it to work...the link is wrong and leads to the desktop version of the drivers - got the right ones now.

    Hi HansTee,

Try uninstalling the previous driver first from the control panel. Uninstall all Nvidia files except for the chipset.

Restart the system and run driver sweeper on safe mode, analyse and clean Nvidia Display and Nvidia PhysX. (To access safe mode, tap F8 during post several times). Restart again.

Try installing the BETA driver after that.

Thanks but was easier just to install the notebook verde drivers 304.79 but the desktop drivers as in the first post link. Its not needed to uninstall nvidia drivers anymore since nvidia has their own auto uninstaller within all new driver packs.

The new driver works perfect with The Secret World. The FXAA is a nice feature and the fps have significantly increased now.

    OT:
However since youre from Dell any news on the USB issues of the M14x R2 or M17x R4? Will Dell solve the problem with the so called native USB 3.0 support by the Intel Chipset? Here is my thread for remembering what im talking about -->

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...t-use-external-devices-your-usb-2-0-port.html

We Alienware Owners but the M18x R2 owners cant use USB 2.0 port when we have this crap Intel USB 3.0 driver installed. Dell didnt try to fix this issue yet. Sorry to tell you but the technical knowledge of the Alienware support is very unsufficient for being able to help people with their problems in the last years... I only wish you Dell people would at least try to help in a more specific way but with the same down written phrases. Thats also the reason why Dell has to do so many on-site serives for problems that could be solved with a better educated technical hotline support.

Sorry for the straight words im of course thankful that you are in this forum and hope you dont take my criticism personal Natalia. :)

No worries, constructive criticism is always welcome :)

I was recommending a clean installation because, even though Nvidia has it's own auto uninstaller, it doesn't uninstall the audio or physX driver, and this sometimes conflicts with the new version that is trying to be installed. I'm recommending driver sweeper in order to clean the registry completely, since the the Nvidia uninstaller doesn't do it.

Regarding the issue with the USB 2.0 and 3.0, I'm going to do a little research on it and we will give you an update as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

I'm trying out the new drivers as well. I just recently got my m14x a few days ago and so far have had good results with Alice 2 and Deus Ex. (DE crashed once on me last night, but it seems like a fluke so far...)

I know someone was asking about this with regards to the previous driver, but I can confirm that two external monitors are working along with the built in monitor with these drivers. I'm running miniDP->VGA to one and VGA to the other at work while running the laptop built in display with no issues.

I couldn't get to work same Graphics card not found and I as of trying, there wasn't a modded inf available. I'm on 304.48 with modded inf. Seems a little slower than 296 on diablo 3 and maybe even Alan Wake.

Alienware - Please just work with NVidia to let us use open drivers so no modded inf's required...

Try to do a clean install by remove all the previous driver then restart the computer then use driver sweeper or ccleaner to finish the remove then restart the computer then install the 304.78 driver

The last three times that I've updated the GPU drivers, I've had severe issues with a game I currently play (different everytime), so I think I will stick to an older, more reliable driver this time :)

Had my first BSOD with Payday: The Heist on these drivers. I think I'll try and tone down the settings a bit, do some more research. I'm not overclocking my R2 at all, I'll mess with the settings some more and see what happens.

Edit: toned down the anti-aliasing and turned off v-sync. I also lowered the resolution to 1280x720.
