Hi guys i am posting on this thread fro major help im posting here because i have received a lot of help from this website but need it now.
OK so this is my first time posting. I bought a brand new alien-ware 14 fresh from dell and the touch pad was working fine i had it on blue light and it was stunning however now 3 weeks later my touch pad keeps turning green! I checked everything in alienfx every time i check blue its green or doesn't work same with pink or purple when i check those its red tried uninstalling/repair alienfx multiple times. It just doesn't work.
But there is one more piece of info is that when i turn on my system sometimes when i select blue it works and fine however switches back to green sometimes and on reboot but also when i press the actually laptop next to the touch pad it turns blue and when i let go it turns green is this a hardware problem please help me!!

Have you looked into if AlienFX has any kind of power or wireless status that is reflected in a script for the touchpad? IE: Are you on a dynamic theme, or a basic theme? What happens if you change to a different basic theme, does the rest of the keyboard change without the touchpad?
If none of those help you figure out the issue, try running alienfxtester.exe to see if it can diagnose a communication issue. It's in the directory Command Center is installed in. (Usually C:\Program Files\Alienware\Command Center or C:\Program Files (x86)\Alienware\Command Center)
As a note, next time please post in the M14x subforum, instead of the main Alienware forum. This thread will most likely be moved soon. -
Ok So i ran the tester and everything was fine for now however if it happens again what should i do you might call this luck but i just banged the bottom part of the alienware and i thinks its working

Ha! If that helped, then it helped. But I'd bet if that's the case, that it's a lose cable (which would be rare, since it would have the power pins, but not communication pins?). Once it happens again, you should check out what I was saying about dynamic themes (Does it go green when you unplug from the AC adapter? Or when you're low battery? Or in certain games?), or you might want to just contact support and get them to come out and service the touchpad, just to be 100%.
Do remember that certain games can change all of the LEDs at will. -
Ok So this happens when in game or not its happening right now could this be software or hardware ran the tester again blue and white failed its not the theme trust me. When i touch the outside of the computer below the FN key it changes blue when i let go it goes green i think it is the pins. could you give me the uk site to get it repaired and if i do will a lose all my data because i have no backup option

Go to Dell.co.uk and call the tech support number there. Tell them the problem, and tell them that you KNOW that the LED pins are lose, and you'd like them to send someone out to you to fix the problem, not a depot repair.
They should fix you up no problem. -
