Ok, so it will come with the Messenger Bag that I had thrown in for free, all in, the system has cost me £1200 including the bag and everything listed above, which I am pretty happy with, I know there will be those saying the 3gb graphics is a waste of money, but Dell must have surplus stock as it's a free upgrade atm.
Anyway, what I want to know is, when I had my XPS M1530 about 4 years ago it came with a few nice extras, software CD/DVD's, Sleeve Case, Leather bound DVD/CD folder for manuals, a remote, that slotted in the side for media centre playing DVD's etc and a pair of in ear headphones, which I still have today that came in a nice little bag, does the Alienware come with the same sort of stuff? More/Less?
Lastly it looks like they have added some horrible Dell:
Software : Dell Stage Software
Software : Sync Up Software
Software : Dell Support Center 3.0
Software : Datasafe Local 2.0 Basic
Software : Dell Stage E-READER Software
Software : Dell Stage E-MAGAZINE Software
I know some of this will be Dell speak for Alienware FX software, but will I have to remove some of the garbage and if so what? Without removing my FN functionality?
Thanks again, i'm very excited as I have been told it's been put on express and I may get it in the next weekMy partner has her Inspiron 15Z being delivered tomorrow (UPS tracking confirmed as delivered tomorrow) and we only paid for them Tuesday.
Thanks again![]()

Here is a great video of an Alienware m14x unboxing.

I had a m1730 before this so it was nice to get all those extras as well... however what you will find is:
1. A nice large box
2. A laptop in a large cloth slip
3. Power supply
4. A pack of restore cd and some driver disks
That's pretty much it... no cd case, no ear buds (I still use mine lol) which was a little disappointing but the laptop isn't
You got the case so that will be in a separate box...
the extra software? Mine is still stock after 3 weeks so it really wasn't too bad.
Hope that helps! -
I just received mine Monday - so mine still has the 'new car' smell as well.
Compared to the old XPSs (I had a 1210 a while back) the Alienwares don't come with anything (as stated above). I put off my latest AW purchase until they had the free backpack + headphones deal before finally pulling the trigger. Luckily I had a few Razor mice laying around already so didn't really need to buy another separately to complete the kit. FYI, the AW headphones are pretty damn nice - has an extendable mike, anti-tangle cord, and an extension cord for both audio and mike to boot.
Definitely less 'loot' in the box than the old XPSs but the machines themselves are so much nicer and more 'premium feeling' than the regular dell computers. -
You pay for a laptop not for the accessories which probly cost them pennies. What you get in the box is what I would consider bare essentials:
Driver CD's
Laptop
Charger
soft case -
None of that software has anything to do with the Alien FX. Alien FX is completely different software. You can remove all that extraneous software listed without removing any functionality. This is the first time I've seen this software added to an Alienware. I've seen it added to the other line of laptops but not Alienware.
