Hey guys
Haven't seen this posted yet. The first non-beta nvidia driver is out for the GT650M - the GeForce 306.23 WHQL driver
Here is the link for the x64 driver.
Downloading currently and will report back on findings in a day or so after i get to test it

My WEI score went down....I could care less though as long as it passes the eye test during gaming. Just posting because i know some people do care.
Both graphics scores was 7.1 and now 6.8 -
-
A few days ago i started running the 306.02 beta driver and noticed the WEI drop to 6.8. But when i asked if anyone noticed the same thing, i did not get any replies. Good to know that it wasn't just my laptop or my imagination.
I tried the new 306.23 driver with Skyrim and everything seems to run just fine. Did not see any improvements over the beta though... -
this is 3-rd thread about new 306 WHQL drivers.
use google search with "site:http://forum.notebookreview.com/" string to search smth on the forum
Example in your case: site: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ 306.23 -
i only ever go this forum so assumed there were other out there that did the same and would appreciate the heads up
-
My graphics score dropped to 5.9/5.6... :/
Edit: Nevermind -
The only difference I've seen is that the audio device on the HDMI port now has a driver
Oh btw I'm new here, hi -
Update, anybody else notice sluggish performance in a game, due to the update? for bf3 i am using the auto settings and was getting 50-60fps, right now i am getting about 18-25.
-
Fairly sure mine didnt change although i could be convinced that i got a slight drop.
-
Performance in game has stayed the same for me with the new driver, was on the newest beta before.
BTW I just upgraded my lcd to 900p and game performance hasn't changed from my eye test. I could care less about FPS, I monitor them just to see at times, but all games are still smooth on the same settings I was using before. -
I downgraded the driver to the previous one and it seems to have gone back to normal, although my WEI is still the same at 6.8(wonder why for the sudden drop). Bf3 does not lag to hell anymore using the "auto" settings.
-
interesting. Might do a test, if i get time, to see if it effects SWTOR performance (only game i play atm
)
-
hmmm my wei also went down to 6.8 and games started ruuning slower
-
yea it sucks, my WEI score wont go up anymore from 6.8 no matter what driver I do, but I am getting the same fps on MC as before. Well i might end up doing a clean install, since I might purchase a SSD. =)
for sure i am not updating to the newest driver for now. -
Why do I think that you did NOT do this???
-
Mine is also 6.8 but i dont know what it was before the new drivers because i really don't care about WEI

i'm starting to think nvidia's talking alot of time as they r trying to maintain the power of each of their gpu models acc to the higher models(like the gt650 shold not be faster or as fast as the gtx660) as most of the 600's is pretty similar to each other, with stream processors and all that ;o other than clockspeed ofc ..

Fresh install - Alienware M14x R1 - Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 - Windows 8 Pro x64 (developer account
) - GT 555M 3GB - using Dell driver just a few nVIDIA driver reset then BSOD 0x116 - using nVIDIA 306.23, BSOD every time 0x116 - (VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE)
Having any application that need NVIDIA, running NViDIA Optimus GPU State Viewer in background, I can see that the NVIDIA GPU turns on but then the driver recovery pops up and the hell fells once again upon me... tested any driver from dell and NVidia on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 and Windows 8 x64, directx updated, net framework updated, still no go
PROBLEM: NVIDIA RESET DRIVER - TDR Failure - ERROR 7
UPDATE: I'm investigating the problem, I will come up with a solution, I will ! 48 granted for the problem that many many people complain, error 7 (I've discovered something interesting about a blinking when removing the ac, on battery everything works - I made too many modification, don't know which is the solution, have to reinstall and test again, I'll come with a solution as soon as possible)
WORKAROUND: lower your gpu/vmem frequency, it will solve the problem but it's an inconvenient
SOLUTION: motherboard replaced, gpu is failing (had my motherboard replaced, don't know if reballing works but it should) -
I updated mine yesterday and my WEI score hasnt changed. Its still at
7.7
7.8
7.2
7.2
7.9 -

I´ve seen any problem at all, but mi WEI score also went down from 7.1 ti 6.8. Can't get it back to 7.1 neither.

I also suggest to use Clean Install option when installing old drivers. To do so you need to choose advanced option of install and check box on the bottom "Clean Install".

I just wanted to let people know that I upgraded from the 296.16 Dell Drivers to the 306.23 Drivers from nVidia and I saw an increase in frame rate in Guild Wars 2 and a higher 3dmark11 score. I did, however, also get my Windows Experience Index score reduced to 6.8, like the others; this was down from 7.2
I've been getting about 6 more fps in Guild Wars 2 in Lion's Arch and my 3dmark11 score went from 2294 to 2319
Granted I'm using the i7-3610QM and the 650m 2gb -
I updated my drivers and saw a drop in performance! Struggled to play borderlands 2, my intergrated graphics card played it better lolz! Gunna install the previous driver to see if that fixes it, it could be another problem but noticed a drop once i installed the driver
Edit: yeh tested previous driver and still getting low fps, dont know what the problem is, all games have like halfed in fps...
