Hmm, will test tomorrow. Need to sleep! I know that my usual FPS on my settings was 30-35 FPS, so I really want to see how this compares.

That's really an improvement, usually the fps I get is between 25 - 35 on Custom (everything medium except for Texture is ultra, AA, Motion blur is off), after install this driver, in the last few match I got around 30 - 45!

    subjective improvement 5+ fps.

900, mid/high, no AA, no HBAO stuff, ~50-60fps. in scenes with lotta explosions no improvement. textures seem to load a bit faster

All of the 285 Series doesnt need the modded .inf, however the driver before the 285 series, you need the .inf file to install.

I can't install on m14x, it saids it could not find compatable graphics hardware.

However, on 285.62. I can install just fine with out .inf

    EDIT

I have found out that I have downloaded the wrong drivers... got the Desktop one instead of notebook.
Now it should be fine. I'm downloading the notebook one.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves shall we?

Dell/Alienware clearly approves for the 285.62 driver, lets wait and see on the new one. When I do a driver search on the Nvidia website, it still comes up with

    Verde 285.62 Driver

You might want to double check that you have the GT 555M driver.

thats the fun of alienware! you can do what you want with it! Why run the approved month old drivers that dont offer any frame increase in BF3, when you can run the stable verde beta drivers that DO improve the frame rate!

Honestly, i installed them within 2 weeks of owning the laptop, and never had an issue!

That driver does not turn up on a manual search of the Nvidia driver finder either.

    Drivers - GeForce

    Where did you get it?

Searched on the site under "beta/legacy drivers"! But here's the direct link!

Graphics Driver - Verde 285.79 Driver - GeForce

If you want the supported ones, download 285.62 from dell only. But if you want to get better drivers, use the nvidia verde 285.79 ones!

Honestly, its totally your decision! We would simply recommend the 285.79 ones!

Dude! At least upgrade to 285.62 official drivers!

But the 285.79 gives you all this:
