So I got my m14x and fired up my favorite passtime, Future Pinball with the Cyclone table and Adams Family.

To my surprise I cannot get it to run off the GPU, only integrated. I first tried whitelisting it, then right click run nvidia, and even setting the nvidia control panel applet to always on, nothing works. The game runs better on my Studio 14z integrated graphics.

Any ideas on what I can try? I read about Optimus woes and don't understand why they don't have a bullet-proof switch to flick like the m11xr1.

Maybe you whitelisted the wrong file. It isn't always the .exe file that you execute to launch the game. Check the task manager for the correct process.

It's the only EXE in the folder.

The same EXE takes CPU time in task manager when playing.
