    Palmrest Part #XN43N Same for R1 and R2?

    Just curious, but does the M14x R2 use the same laptop case palm rest (XN43N) as the M14x R1? Waiting for the tech to arrive and looking through the hardware he's replacing the parts with online and one of the parts, R1W3W, says it's for the M14x R2 but the XN43N just says M14x.

    On another note...I wonder how they're going to change it up for the next generation Alienware laptops. Maybe like the Acer Iconia laptop where it's dual screens...even they keyboard is a screen...

    Hi Princedevil, yes, it's the same part number for both models, and that's actually the touchpad. :)

    Can you confirm whether the screen cover & laptop body (i.e the bits of the laptop that are Red on a nebula red model) is the same between r1 an r2. I want to paint mine, but I obviously want to get replacement parts, paint those & then fit them, rather than painting the actual ones I've got.

    The LCD cover and the bottom cover have different part numbers on the R1 and on the R2. :)
