    Plugging a Cable into my left usb port shuts off my computer.

    For about a week now when ever I plug something into the left usb port, the one with a lightning bolt, it shuts off. Yesterday the plastic part broke off but still if I put something in the port it shuts off. I'm going to try and get a new port or fix this broken one but I want to see if this is a hardware or software problem.

    It must be a short on the mobo, the main problem there is that the whole motherboard would have to be replaced because of this.
