So my Alienware M14x stopped charging (but could be powered on while plugged in) and for a while I was pissed and puzzled until I looked at the plug-in in the back of my computer, it's all bent.

I bent some of the pins back so that it looked normal and now it charges but I still get the BIOS warning that the wattage isn't correct which makes me think I'm still missing contact with one or more of those pins. So could an Alienware M14x owner whose machine's charging functions work perfectly take a picture of the power socket on the back of their machine? I'd like to bend it back so it's perfect.

    Thanks a ton.

Is it under warranty? If so, I'd definitely get a Dell tech to do it.. If not, I'll take a picture for you when I get mine though I'm sure someone will help you out long before that.

That's one of the main design flaw with the Alienware m14x's that I noticed , the power cord being plugged in the back and you can potentially bend different parts back there if you're not careful when you pick up your laptop correctly. If you noticed, a lot of other laptops put it on the side which eliminates that problem.

There are so many better ways they could have designed the power plug. Pins are stupid in this day in age and should be attached to some plastic part of the plug imo. On top of that, the thing comes out super easily. When me and my friends are lanning league or something it pops out all the time because there is literally nothing holding it in. The plug sits in the socket like an airplane sits in a hangar...

    I agree. It's a real inconvenience.
