Hi! so i have m14x r2 bios A12, and i'm confuse how this feature works. i just enable powershare via bios setup. and turn off my laptop, and then it didn't charge my phone unless i connect my AC adaptor(im using powershare port that is usb 2.0). is it just me? or.... can someone explain how this works? because i thought i can charge my phone via usb cable using powershare features when my laptop is off and without AC adapter

any help would be appreciated, thank you. :)

I too have been wondering the same thing.
On my m11xr1, I can plug things into the powershare usb port and it charges what ever is plugged in no matter if the computer is plugged in or not.

With my r3 there is an option you have to turn on in the bios to enable powershare on battery. Not sure if its the same on the newer systems or not.

Power share is supposed to keep the voltage of a USB port steady instead of letting it drop when the laptop is turned off in order to be able to charge some devices.

Not all the USB ports have this feture, the powershare-enabled usb port has a "thunder" symbol on it, are you trying the right one?

i believe the new platforms require the extra power from the AC adapter to achieve this.
