    Hey guys,

I tried running Freespace 2, an old disc i found lying around, and when i try to run it it fails to detect my RAM, saying i need atleast 32MB ( I have 6 GB).
Furthermore, it says to make sure I am not running SmartDrive, because any memory allocated to SmartDrive is not usable by applications. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

    Many Thanks :)

sounds like a very old disk...... it sounds like a win 98 program or a win xp program at best.
    Looking it up:
    System requirements
200 MHz CPU, 32 MB RAM, 8X CD-ROM drive, DirectX 6.0, 400 MB available hard disk space, Windows 95, 3D accelerated graphics card

Very old game You would probably have to run it in an emulator....

    you can try:
-right-click on the program, then click "Properties", then "Compatability" and select w95.

Not much help...but if you really wanna play FS2 - Google "Good old Games", they've got a modern compatible DRM-free version for sale, digital copy around $9.99.

...was the only way I could relive my Freespace memories!

Yes, gog.com is the best place for older games on the cheap too. They still don't have a lot of classics but getting there slowly.
