I won't be using the windows 7 that came from AW, but my own windows 7 cd which I bought a while back.

Is it alright to do? I have downloaded all the AW drivers from DELL.com and plan on just installing these after the fresh installation of windows 7.

Will doing tihs void my warranty? Will optimus work correctly under this new windows 7 cd? Thanks a lot in advance.

You will not void the warranty just to reinstall Windows unless you damage the hardware but that is unlikely for if you reinstall windows, because that would be ridiculous and everyone else would have their warranty all void since the Windows installation DVD that came with the laptop is just like the normal Windows installation Disc except for the Logo and look of the Disc and some tweak when you install using the Alienware Win Installation DVD, the Optimus will work on any windows as long as you have the correct driver which is the NVIDIA driver, (However not sure for Windows XP though).
