Heya everyone! First off, apologies if this is a overly asked question, the search function seems to be failing me yet again.
I ordered a 128G Crucal m4 SSD not too long ago, and it finally came into my possession recently.
I'd like to replace my stock HD with it, however I DONT want to clone my current hard drive. I'd really like to just 'start over' with a fresh install of Win7.
Could anyone give my a sort of idiot's guide as to how to do this? Is it as simple as physically installing the SSD and then popping in the recovery CD, setting the boot priority to thee DVD drive, etc?
Thanks in advance for any help! It's greatly appreciated!

Hi mate,
here is a video tutorial how to replace your hdd on the m14x
[HD] Tutorial - Taking apart your Alienware M14X and Changing Hard Drive - Part 1 - YouTube
After you replaced it you can just install a fresh win7 like on a normal hdd,
just make sure you got AHCI mode selected on the BIOS(this gives you a better performance) -

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just wanted to let yall know that after about an hour and a half of installing everything from the actual SSD itself to all the associated drivers/apps, I FINALLY got everything working.
I gotta say, the difference between this SSD (128GB Crucial M4) and my old HDD is incredible. I barely have time to blink in the period it takes for my computer to boot up.
Thanks a TON for the advice! My next project will most likley be substituting my mostly-unused optical drive for my old 500GB HDD, although for now I'm just gonna enjoy the awesome of this new M4.
Thanks again!
