I am going to buy one of these monitors to replace my screen that is now 1366 x 768: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/laptop-part-number/Dell/0MJ2P/
Should I grab the TN display they have in stock now or wait for them to get IPS displays in stock?
I dont want a glossy screen.
Thanks for any input, its much appreciated.

I guess the next, and probably biggest question, is: should I even bother?
I keep thinking about having a 1080p display at 14", and it being so small that its hard to see anyways because so small. -
Get the IPS display. It is significantly better than the standard TN panel.

Honestly not too big a deal but I would go IPS if you had the choice and its not too much more expensive

I am going to get the IPS, I just have to wait for them to get a matte one in stock (no way I am getting a glossy one). It is only $10 more.

you should ONLY choose for TN if you care to have a 120 or 144Hz display that is relatively cheap.
Otherwise, especially for me IPS is WAAY superior. IPS has a lot better color reproduction and has very good viewing angles. a TN panel can have Very bad viewing angles.
For me IPS all the way.steviejones133 and SamuelMSr like this. -

I'd also strongly recommend the IPS panel - it's a no-brainer if there is not much difference in price.
Quick question....TN or IPS??
