Recently I just notice my m14x has 2 dead pixel , I've called dell , they said they will sent technician to replace my screen , I'm afraid that technician will break my m14x , just wondering how to avoid that , because I had m17x-r2 (2010) and one of the technician break the part that was working fine and many troublesome issue back and forth , in the end the problem was solved.
I don't really want technician to break anything , how do I avoid it , personally I have experience to replace the screen.
I know this is stupid question , I wanted to how was your experience with dell technician now days.

Technician's are only human, it's possible for them to make mistakes sure, but any mistakes they do make they'll fix free of charge...
If you change the screen yourself not only will it cost money but I doubt Dell will fix any problems you encounter... -

It would be crap if I met same unskilled human again.
Its not free of charge if you paid for brand new system
I been changed my other alienware laptop screen by myself , no problem at all. Since this is newly machine not even 21days , that's why I'm asking for advise. -

Yes, you can ask for the Parts Only Service if you are afraid of a technician breaking the computer, anyway you can be monitoring what he is doing if he goes to your place and replaces the parts there. Chances are very low that you will get the same technician this time, he has been probably escalated already. There is always the Depot option for you. If you need any change in the Dispatch please send us an e-mail to [email protected] and they should be able to help you as soon as possible.

The technician was really cool this time but I find out there is a tiny scratch from the back of the cover itself which come with already that way , (not technician's fault) I wondering if dell could replace because of the scratch? -
Dell support is really great. Glad you got your screen fixed

That's great! I'm glad that it worked fine. Unfortunately the scratch is considered a cosmetic damage. -

But my previous cover was in perfect condition except dead pixel , but after swapping the screen no more dead pixel , but it was come with scratched cover that I did not damage it....
To be honest , the scratch really bother me. I have my m11x , m18x for a year now , no single scratch on it , I was planning to keep those laptops more then 5years. -

One of the dell rep says :
is [email protected] same as [email protected] ? -
Alienware-L_Porras Company Representative
No, it is not the same. [email protected] goes to the SOS team (us) and the Resolution_Experts goes to the Resolution Experts. -
