    Hi

In the future, will I be able to upgrade the screen in my r2? IIRC the gamut is around 40% for the 900p display? The display on the 15" Clevos is around 70%, and you can step up to 95% if you have the need (and it's matte!!). What size/spec panel will fit in the m14x r2? I kind of feel like we get shafted on this front...

    Thanks

Last I've heard, the only available panels for the M14x are the specially sized and shaped assemblies used by both M14x configurations (the 1366x768 and 1600x900 panels). So if you already have the 1600x900 screen, you don't have any upgrade options beyond a serious mod-job.

I could be wrong, of course.

Ok I have a question too
So the matte screen on this page would 100% work? No problems what so ever. And how much worse do you think the picture quality would be on the matte screen over the glossy.

Even if you got a matte lcd, the glossy part is the COVER over the screen. The bezel is the glossy part, so you would have to remove that in order to have a matte screen.

Last I checked, there's a custom-shaped AG2 matte protector for the M14x from Green Onion. I'd like to have that myself, but it seems I'd have to import it specially. I'll probably just stick on a protector sized for a 14.1" notebook, but the lack of seamlessness wouldn't look nice...

I don't know if this applies to the R2s (I have the R1), but when I was looking around for an LCD I found out that there are some 14" LCD panels in the market, but very few fit the "slimline" LCDs that the M14x uses. Most 14" panels are apparently too thick to fit in the M14x chasis.

You would need to do your own investigation, but one of the candidates I landed on was the Envy Spectre 14's LCD screen; since it costed ~$270 in the HP parts section and there was no guarantee it would fit, I decided to not go for it :p
