    SD card reader on M14x not working!

    today, i tried the SD slow with my friends SD card from a camera. it fits perfectly, but nothing shows up in my computer! is anyone else's like this?

    Hi...I had the same problem and tried to google for the answer...and all i found is that people talking about updating drivers, incompatibility issues, resource dvd etc..thats all nonsense

    Solution is very simple...I believe its your first time using the SD Card slot (just like me)...so when you put the card (if its a micro, then it will need the adapter) then make sure you push it ALL THE WAY to the end and hold it there so that the laptop recognizes it and prompts with a sound AND/OR updates the drivers...after it has detected it...release it once more and push it back again to get a click sound...and viola!!

    It might be deactivated in the BIOS also. There is a simple option for it I think.

    I have the same issue also with alienwarem14x. The SD card will insert and click into place. But I have to push in with in with finger and hol it in place to get it working.Very difficult to do when transferring files. It has to be pushed in all the way and held in place while using.
    Try this and see if it helps
