    Im pretty sure the chipset supports it but you know i had to make sure.... so i contacted dell chat.... you know how that is.... worthless anyway just want to make sure the 14x is sata 6 capable as im looking into a vertex 3 or equiv drive.

    my guess is sata 3 alone. no sata 6 ability...

    i'm pretty sure it is SATA III capable. I'm guessing you mean the 6gb/s

    I checked the service manual. "one 2.5 inch SATA 2.0 (3Gb/s) or SATA 3.0 (6Gb/s) ••hard drive"

    well if that is the case, then for that price point they want to upgrade people it better be 6gb/sec
