    Hi guys,

I'm thinking of getting Saints Row the Third but there is very little information on the net (via google) on how it plays on the m14x. Anybody here played it on the m14x and, if so, how does it handle?

    Cheers.

thanks. one other question - did you buy the game retail or did you download from Steam? I'm trying to find out whether I can unlock the achievements if I buy the game from a shop as opposed to downloading from Steam.

    Cheers

Got it installed and running last night (point to note: if you buy the retail version there is still a 2GB chunk to download from Steam before you can play the game!). It automatically defaults to Ultra settings but it does seem slightly sluggish to me. I don't know if the game is designed that way but I will play with the settings later to see if it makes any difference.

A quick update on this game - I changed the default settings for this game from Ultra to High. Whilst I don;t run FRAPS I can tell that it has increased the framerate whilst not really affecting the visuals. I'm also playing it in DX10/11 mode (when you start the game you get the option to play in DX9 or DX10/11). I had read that a lot of people (on other non-alienware forums) were having problems running it in DX10/11 mode - the M14x doesn't.

The game is really fun to play and seems to have a ton of content.
