I'm having major frustrations with this particular issue which I can't seem to solve.

Issue: Screen dims when there is a dark picture on screen and brightens up when there is a light picture on screen.

    I have disabled:

    1) Sensor monitoring services in services.msc

    2) Adaptive brightness in advanced power options to 'off' for both plugged in and battery

    I could not find:

    1) Intel power saving technology option in my graphics options

    2) Dell power saving technology in the battery meter

    Caused by win 8.1 ???

    thx guys

Did you ever figure this issue out? I notice this happens on the new Alienware 15. Whats more annoying is that it happens during games.
Now that I think of it I now recall it happening on my AW14 too. :(

Did you try changing the whole power plan to high performance?

I'm also having this issue, I'm surprised nobody has found a solution.
