Just got my M14x today and everything looks and works great- no light leaks, everything seems to be functioning fine, no squeaky keyboard and no lopsided spacebar.

There's just one minor thing that's niggling me- underneath the left 'light' on the front (the two vehicle taillight like lights), there's a seam that is rather sharp, but the same area on the right is smooth. I can see a seam on the right light as well, but it is rounded off.

I did a Google search and it seems that Engadget had a similar issue on the M14x they tested, but the rough seam was on the right side. Is this 'normal', and should I ask for a replacement/repair (yeah a bit 'depends what you think' but just want to see what others would do if in the same situation)?

    Thanks :)

oh, and please don't berate me for getting the 3GB graphics card- it's base on the Hong Kong spec M14x's :p

...and now I'm having issues with dbascu.dll. I get a dll runtime failure every time I boot up, and it persists even after running Restore to Factory in AlienRespawn (I did choose the 'don't keep my files' option).

Did a search and it sounds like an issue with Creative or X-Fi software. Nope, not a Nero issue like dll runtime errors usually are- this issue persisted even after uninstalling everything Nero (just SyncUp and the update utility which came preinstalled).
I didn't encounter the issue at initial boot up which is why I find it strange that I'm having issues now, even after restoring to factory settings.

I already tried uninstalling the factory driver and installing the audio driver off Dell's website. Anyone know of a fix?

Thinking I should ask for a new unit, but I'm not sure they would do it, since it is a custom configured unit.

Got the dbascu.dll error fixed. Just ran the Creative update utility and all is well now.

Can anyone tell me if their M14x's have a similar seam under either front light?

    Thanks.
