Should CPU voltage be bouncing around like this?

Looking at hwinfo64 and it seems that my CPU voltage and core clock speeds are bouncing all around when the machine is idle.

I don't remember it doing this before I reinstalled windows 7 for my new SSD...

This isn't normal is it? What could be going on? Voltage and core clock changes less than every second.

If you really look at the picture, the voltage only jump with there're activity on it, and that explain it, because if the CPU is idle, then it will not use much power, and if you are at max load then it will use more power thus the voltage will jump.

However, during the idle time. During the idle time it doesnt mean that your computer is idle though, yes it is idle but there're still background process going on, just open the Task Manager, be idle and you will see activities on it, that why during idle you still see the CPU is still being use.

It is normal. I am still waiting for a way to edit the vcore on these though because there's no way it needs 1.2v for 2.6ghz. My 2600k desktop cpu [essentially the same thing at the 2630qm] uses 1.3v at 4.7ghz soooooooo yea.

Perfectly normal. That's part of the power management with the processor.

When you frequencies rise and fall to different states, you can operate with different voltages. This is also how it manages heat and why disabling the turbo feature will keep the voltages from going to high and maxing out your temperatures.
