Out of the box the screen resolution was set at what Dell call HD, (1366*768). I specifically ordered it with HD+ (1600*900)

All resolution settings seems to max out at 1366*768. Is there something really basic i'm missing here?

Order confirmation says: "14.0 inch HD (900p/1600x900) with WLED backlight"
If i look up the TAG at the Dell page it says: "2PVPT MODULE..., LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY..., 14HD+, FWLED, TLF, SAMSNG"

This leads me to think i DO have a HD+ screen, i'm just to stupid to figure out how i change the screen resolution. :-(

If all of the correct drivers are installed you should be able to adjust your resolution to 1600x900. Give customer support a call for some diagnostics and then contact the outlet. You should be reimbursed if your receipt lists the upgraded screen.

Just re-installed the drivers, same issue.

This sucks so bad! I just came out of a month long fight with customer care after they sent me a M18x in the wrong color.

getting a bit tired of Dell/Alienware now. :-(

What flybass said. Just call them and make a fuss about not having your laptop so you don't have to ship it. They should send a tech out. Dell generally is really good with sending out techs very quickly.

Give them a call and I'm sure they will send someone out to replace it with the correct screen. I received the wrong screen with my M17x, but I'm not complaining since it's the upgraded screen.

So far efter 4 calls they offer me a replacement machine from the outlet.

It will take 16 business days, AND they have no way of telling me what condition, color or SPEC it will be. :)

You need to call dell because it seems to me that they sent you a 720p and not the 900p
