Last night, playing a graphics-intensive game (Dishonored, which runs incredibly well on my m14x R1), my Nvidia fan turned on high speed and some graphical flickering appeared. It was definitely the video card, which was at around 60-62C. I didn't have it propped up on anything (to increase airflow), and I don't have a cooling pad. I've never needed it with Dishonored.
I need to do more testing, but my warranty ran out 3 weeks ago (good timing, Alienware!) and now I'm on my own.
I'm worried my gfx card is overheating. Any solutions?

EDIT: See below. It appears refresh rate has something to do with this.

60-62C is not bad at all while gaming. Here is an article for troubleshooting this type of issues. -
Yeah, it's weird, it doesn't seem to be heat related. It's wavy lines running upward on the screen, really only discernable when the scene being displayed is fairly dark. The lines are fairly subtle.
I can see them now on this page ( Download Heaven DX11 Benchmark | Unigine: real-time 3D engine (game, simulation, visualization and VR)) which is grey. They show up well on those grey tones. Weird. And worrying.
EDIT: Weird. It appears to be related to refresh rate settings. I lowered the refresh rate for both the integrated Intel gfx and the Nvidia gpu to 40hz and it's changed the lines from quick moving and tightly spaced to slow moving and widely spaced. They're VERY subtle, but in low-light scenes (and in Dishonored, there's a lot of those) they're visible.
Any thoughts on refresh rate settings and the m14x R1? -
Maybe something messed up your video driver? You could try a clean video driver installation.
