    Hi Guys,

I took the plunge a couple of days ago and placed an order for a M14x which i am expecting early may.

At the moment i am using a cheap and nasty case for my existing laptop but am after something more along the style of the M14x.

    Any recommendations?

It is the Orion m14x bag. You can add it to your order while configuring your laptop. I think it is $99.

The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

Click on the "Personalise" tab, then go to "Gear Store" on the bottom right. You have three options - an M14x sleeve, backpack, or messenger bag.

I've had the M17x version othe backpack, and it's great. Very well made and study. It doesn't hold a massive amount extra though. My M17x, a book or two, charger, headphones, mouse, and a couple of other small bits and the backpack was pretty full.

I have the Alienware messenger bag - it's big enough to fit 2 17 inch laptops, and in fact I used to carry around both my 17 inch Mac and my M15x in the bag at the same time. Awesome awesome awesome container of carrying.

Basically any bag you want would fit a 14inch lappy. You're kinda lucky lolz.

I'm still having trouble finding a suitable bag for my R3. I currently use a Brenthaven Metrolite backpack, which sadly I cannot take full advantage of the padding cuz my R3 doesn't fit into the lappy compartment. PM me if you're interested in it though :)

I though the dimensions of the m14x make it more like a 15 inch laptop rather than a 14? nevermind that its thicker so a bigger bag would be a good investment.

Choices choices. By the way i am in the UK and the official alienware bag was not available at the time of purchasing the laptop. i have mailed the sales rep and await a response

Actually I prefer the Elecon Zeroshock IV cases than anything on the market. Have one for m11x R2 its perfect. Some users reported after involved in accident their computer still survived without any medical treatment needed, unlike the actual user!

Oh, I was talking about the M17x--completely forgot that the m11xr3 now exists. (theres a 17inch version of the zeroshock III sleeve on ebay, but it's only big enough for macbooks :().

Ah sorry for the misunderstanding. Yes you are correct, I bought the sleeve which is one size bigger than 11in for the m11x. Guess I will need a 15.6in sleeve for the m14x this time!
Still waiting for the shop to email me back about the exchange policy in case if it doesnt fit :D

i actually created my own lappy case, used a nice piece of leather off an old couch for the exterior, some memory foam from an old tempor pedic bed, i used to put my old 16" lappy in it, cant say how many times i've dropped it. wonderful case made myself.. (i even dropped it down my stairs once) >.<

Has anyone confirmed yet that the m14x backpack/bag are actually smaller than the origional ones built for the m17x? The pictures almost look exactly the same and I don't see any dimension specs. Just trying to see if Dell is trying to scam more money out of me or not. I have a bag for my older m17x but willing to buy the m14x version for my future m14x if it truly is smaller.

I'm in the same boat, and would love an answer to this.

I'm thinking probably not; I don't see Dell making a second back that's exactly the same, except for the size, just for the 11 and 14, but who knows? Maybe.
