    Temperatures aren't always a problem.

Seeing as how there are probably potential m14x buyers that peruse these forums (I was one for over 6 months) I thought I would just make a positive thread, to show this machine isn't always plagued with problems.

As of yet, I haven't had any temperature problems or problems really at all other than minor annoyances with the wireless card (and I even got the Killer-N, go figure.)

I run Skyrim at almost max settings (I turned down a couple things just a hair) and don't have any problems with temps, I say everything is pretty solid. My CPU (the i7 2670M, turbo boost ON) only gets up to mid 70's, and my GPU overclocked to 750/1500/1050 only gets up to mid 50's. And around 80's and 60's in an intensive BF3 game (Texture settings on ultra, everything else medium) I haven't really had any significant heating problems, or any for that matter really.

Just thought it might be a little encouraging to share a good story to anyone looking to buy this machine--It's done nothing but treat me well.

Excellent point, and I'm right on board with you. I have an m14x with an i7 2760, 4gb of RAM, 500gb HD, 1.5gb GT555M and my heat has never gone above 85c, and I don't see above 80C while it's on my laptop cooler. My GPU temps are right around the same as yours, mid 50s.

I don't have -any- problems with my m14x in any way. My wireless works perfectly, Bluetooth perfect, HD and DVD drives fine, no dead pixels, no lag in any games, no construction issues.

My only complain is that sometimes my F8 key doesn't pop all the way back up due to the little plastic panel catching on it. It's not a big deal, there's just enough friction there to keep that key maybe 1mm lower than the others. But it's not perfect. Other than that, and I really don't care about it, it's a wonderful machine.

The only complaint I have with the system is -- its gets dirty easily :( I clean it like everytime after I use it. Then again I developed OCD for it after purchasing. I really do like it. I think there are ways to improve it, but not neccassary (dual fans, 15.6 inch screen with super super thin border like the Samsung Chronos?)

Everything for me works fine, but I did have a problem

And I returned it to dell

And I got it back within 3 days (they gave me all free overnight shipping without me even asking)

    And everythings great.
(Note I didnt sell it after a day because my space key was lop sided)
