First post... Hello everybody. So I've been undressing the m14x with my eyes for about 2 weeks now. My HP Pavilion dv2000 started having major power jack issues after 3 years of non stop use around the world. Its treated me well these past few years but besides the fact that its barely even compatible with the included solitaire and spider games it is really only good for two things typing, and downloading and playing music and video. And now that the usb and power plugs are failing on me its time for an upgrade. And considering the fact that it is possible to buy an m14x nebulae red with the Sound blaster x Hi-Fi sound card and a year of advanced protection for around 948.46 no tax or shipping I think I am about to get to third base with this sexy computer. i've been dreaming of owning an alienware for about 6 or 7 years and have jumped up a few income brackets since then. However I still have a few reservations. First I am not as tech savvy as some if not most of you obviously are. Am I in over my head? my impression is that this computer will run most if not all games released to date if not on maxium performance then on good performance and this is what I want. I dont want to be surprised when i find out i cant play simple games like nox, diablo, carmageddon, silkroad, or war rock. I remember trying to run hit man on my hp on windows vista and it was pretty lame that my then pretty good computer could not play a simple windows 98 or xp game heck not only that but ive been having alot of issues with milk drop audio visualisation program do to graphics issues. Also does it have the k lock feature to lock it up? is there any other known issues with this computer other than the shut down on battery power? Thanks for reading and would appreciate some input...

In short, it will play all of those games, if not normally, then in compatibility mode, and yes it has a slot for a laptop lock :)

If you are looking to run older games like Nox, you should probably look into GOG.com
