    First Question:

Hello everyone I've been monitor the temp of the CPU each time I run games like BFBC2, and surprisingly it reach close to between 98C - 100C, why is that?

Plus in NZ now is Winter, and I usually play it at night and it heat my room up like a heater, the temp outside my room is between 5C - 10C at night while my room is between 17C - 23C which is good but it's bad for the laptop. The #1 picture below is taken on 13th Aug,, the #2 is about few days ago and the #3 is on 15th Aug (Idling Temp).

Should I get a cooler? If so can any of you suggest one?

    Second Question:

The 2nd question is can anyone suggest what kind of cloth and screen cleaner should I use with the M14x?

    Ref for CPU Temp:

A laptop cooler is always recommended. I've been using the Coolermaster infinite for years, and it still serves me well until today. If you want style to go with your m14x, then give the SF-19 a shot (also by CM).

As for the cloth, I use Lenspen cloth, it's the one professional photographers use to clean their lenses, so go figure. Good luck.

Maybe you need to repaste your CPU/GPU.

Oh that maybe reserve only for the last resort, because I really want to avoid that since I afraid that I will break stuff in the process.

And Thanks for suggestion everyone, and Yes I really need a cooler here.

Send it to a computer shop you trust to do it?

I hear good things about cooler master u2, it's a good size and you can move the fans around.

Will it fit a 14" laptop? I mean is it too big? Because the U3 state it support between 17" - 19" which is sound too big for M14x.

Thanks I think I'll have a research on it before buy.

Actually, people said, the bigger the better, as for this cooler, is it worth having the bigger cooler for a smaller laptop? or just go with the U2 since it stated that it will support between 14" - 17".

The U3 offers an extra fan and speed control, the U2 has only 2 fans and no speed control.

There are only 2 large vents on the m14x as far as I know though.

I'd agree that you should look at repasting your cpu, or a call to dell as that is way too hot. Mine was in the early eighties stress testing, peaked a bit higher before the fans went on turbo.

I'm not really a big fan ( get it ) of laptop coolers, I dont really see the point. Its additional expense and your laptop is designed to run without the need for one.

I'd be more inclined to fix the problem rather than hide it. I know some people buy them but if its in warranty and something happens, it'll get fixed.

The only exception was if you lived in a really hot country and the ambient temp was what you would call unreasonable, or you take it to the beach lol

Besides which the tjunction is I believe 100 degrees so clearly somethings not right, also your cpu wont be at 100% load during gaming...............I'd be on the phone, perhaps overstating it a bit :)

Those temps seem really high. Mine idle's at about 50C (which is still high to me considering my desktop 2600k idles at like 35C and games at 55C, but its watercooled 8P) and games at about 60-80 depending on the game. It's very hot here in San Diego so I am surprised yours are so high considering its colder there.
