Ugh! This wasn't on there before! Atleast i don't think!
When I put the windows 7 settings toolbars on Transparent, you can't see anything, but if I turn "transparent" off, then there is small small speck on the top, FAR LEFT hand corner of the LCD display. But sometimes it dissapears.
IS THIS! Dear god, I paid 2k for this laptop and if this thing won't go away it's getting returned!![]()

Make sure you blow the picture up to the max size via photobucket and you will see it on the TOP LEFT CORNER!!!!
-
Oh my god I'm so F***ing pissed off.
I spent 2k on this thing and now I think I'm going to have to return it or something.
I right clicked the desktop and tried lansdscape and then portrait settings and it flipped the screen and "white pixel" flipped to the other size of the screen, which is I don't understand because if it's a dead pixel it should be stationary....
And I don't remember doing this before. And it's so weird that if I hit "transparent"on the window color for the windows 7 tool bars , you can't see anything. But if I go not transparent you see the small speck on the top LEFT corner.
This is going to drive me insane. I'm a neat freak!
Ugh! ruined my day! -
Have you tried changing the desktop image? You can't take a screenshot of a dead pixel. A dead pixel is a physical imperfection, you can only capture it with an external camera. The reason why the pixel flipped to the other side of the screen when you flipped the image is because it is an imperfection with your desktop image. Even if it was a dead pixel, don't get so worked up over such things.
-
If it flipped its not a dead pixel. Pixels dont move around your screen.
Try full black backgrounds and see if its still there.
Find a dead pixel test on google and report back. -
Really. This sort of thing frustrates me.
If this really turns out to be an imperfection in the image you chose for your backdrop... -
No, I get what you guys are saying.
I actually TRIED other desktop images. And I get the same thing.
Actually, when I right-click "properties" then "personalize" and the edit my windows toolbar theme, If I "check" the trasnparent button, the "speck" dissapears.
BUT if I unclick the transparent button and turn the windows toolbar a solid color, the speck appears.
I tried different backgrounds.
The only weird thing is when I reboot it dissapeared. Can anyone test this on their system? Please? -
Its official.. you're an idiot
-
I rephrased my post to tone it down. Felt bad, but i agree with you.
What disgusts me is the idiots that get good expensive products like this. How?
I wish i could go through life like this...and still own cool stuff.
Guess im just jealous...no wait i would rather be poor with intellect. -
Well, I tried to be nice but uh my thread was on a legitimate issue, which apparently not many people have NOTICED, but me, since it is so miniscule.
I wasn't my "user error" or me using a corrupted desktop image etc.. since do your homework boy.
I have built many gaming computers from scratch and know my hardware. I also am a Straight A Pharmacy student at Purdue University, what are you?
What is more sickening, actually my intellectual novice, are the pompous delusional pseudo-intellectuals who post on here and provide no help to threads or flame the OP.
Again, it was actually a "glitch" I discovered, although someone had reported it to microsoft earlier than I, so I cannot take the credit.
See here: A white dot may appear on the top-left corner of the screen when an Aero theme is selected and “Enable transparency” is unchecked
*thanks to Epipherus for that.
Now think before you open your mouth; I swear, the forums are going downhill, I post for help on my new 2k alienware, and people attack your integrity (some claimed I'm a troll and don't even own an alienware?)
Seriously? Anyway, thanks for the lack of help buddy, have fun with your life. -
There is no need for name calling here.
Glad its not a dead pixel. -
Might as well be. It's they admitted (microsoft) but have no fix for...
