Doesnt the Lenevo IdeaPad Y470 have the SAME exact specs as the m14x, in the same screen size?

Whats the point of the m14x again ._.

    Doesn't the Y470 only have the 550M?

    And no 1600x900.

    Hmm, okay.

Still no 1600x900. 1366x768 simply isn't enough for a lot of people, including me.

Darn, I thought I could finally get my new computer without robbing a bank.

Oh well, off to the ski mask store. Too da loo!

EDIT: But seriously, is the 550M comparable to the 555M or is it like the 330M to 335M?

lenovo comes with bloatware that you can't get rid of because it is needed for the machine to work, the build quality is horrible as well, not like the thinkpads at all. They are cheap and plasticy.

You know, not for nothing, but based on your forum username, I would say your opinion might be a TAD biased. :p

HAHA LOL. yeah but i actually considered buying a ideapad y570 and my dad had one and it is pretty cheap feeling. Then I decided to get a sager np8130 and came really close to ordering it but I guess it has quite a bit of flex and the speakers SUCK even when listening through headphones it is bad. so In the end I came back to the m14x. I am not biased. (Unless it comes to apple. Don't ever buy an apple)

I have seen the ideapad systems at Staples and the build quality is lower than the Alienware. Dell also has a great warranty system setup.

Yeah I know M14x flashes more lights than a stripper but I meant specs wise. I guess originally it was to come with a 555M but they dropped it to a 550M :\

I actually would probably prefer if the AW was less flashy and more functional, but c'est la vie. I'll happily settle for a 14 inch powerhouse that looks like it just got out of Party City though. :p

    What's wrong with you? lol

The graphic card, and the flashy lights, and the Alienware brand. That's it.

It's like asking what's the point of a Lexus, doesn't it have the same parts as a Toyota? What's the point of Acura? Why do people pay $150 for a pair of Nike's, when you can get some offbrand for $20?

i guess.. if there's argument that alienware was better before dell... then there should also be an argument that lenovo was better when they were ibm...
