SO I just got the a new M14x what do I need to do in terms of clocking etc?

I mean, does it automatically use turbo boost? Or do I have to activate it from the bios on my own? I don't intend to do any overclocking that can harm my computer! Just the clocking that is meant by turbo boost! :)

If anyone can give me any other advice/tips as to what to do or things that can help make my new alienware run great like programs and such please let me know also! I'm new to posting but I've been reading these forums for the past year!

    P.S.

Sorry if this was already discussed I know I saw posts on how to overclock but I wasn't sure if that was the turboboost (safe) way of overclocking or the other way of overclocking where you must always watch the temps/be careful etc. I'm kinda a noob o.e..!! Bear with me please and thank you in advance for the help! /end wall of text

The cpu already has a dynamic boost . Base clock is 2.0 ghz and max is 2.9ghz. You can download an intel turbo boost monitor to see when it boosts and how much. But you can't manually overclock these cpu's. They aren't unlocked. Gpu overclocking is done manually through MSI afterburner or similar software.

I saw you have the 2720 so you can reach 3,3ghz on turbo 2.0 and unlike turbo 1.0,yours can dynamicly overclock all un idle cores not just 1.But if you reach max heat the cpu will throttle back to the stock 2.2ghz,there are things you can do like optimize your settings which are discussed all over this thread, half the fun is a little tweaking.Have fun and your pc will be fast even if you dont do anything but use it.
