I have suffered from a bad bios update and now my pc is stuck in a boot loop. turning on lights, fans, then off again. The pc is an alien area 51 (2010) with a MS-7543 board . I tried booting from usb etc but not sure ive been using the right keys on keyboard or files. I read of people having to replace boards but want to avoid this if possible as its an older board that now costs +300. Any help or advise would be appreciated, cheers

Im not sure if this helps but try to take CMOS battery off and wait some time and but it back. That should reset BIOS. Im not sure if that works but you can always try.

Computer turn on, lights and fans start spinning. Stays on with light fans spinning for 1-2 mins then turns off. Then (cycle repeat here) turns on again. In this process the usb or mouse has flashed twice before it has turned off. I have been trying to revive it with various usb utilities. the most promising result i had was i wrote a .bat file to the usb i think to an AMI recovery utility and i got it to beep once before it switch off. I tried this on my other pc as well and it beeped as well and displayed invalid command. I am not really sure what type of bios i have though i know it usually ami or award but i have a dell/alienware so don't know if it is one of these and where bios is an .exe not a rom or .bio format which also makes thinks difficult. Thanks for your help
