I'm ordering the base model come Monday morning once I can consolidate my 2 Dell gift cards.

I already have a gaming desktop. This laptop purchase was more or less for added mobility (obviously), you know internet from the couch, travel, and a bribe for my girlfriend... so she has a PC to use once SWTOR comes out. :p

She plays The Sims 3. But the games I'm playing & have future interest in are: League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, SWTOR, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, F2P games from Steam, L4D series, LOTR RTS, Age of Empires. There's a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting. All the other big games BF3, CoD, Skyrim, etc. I have for PS3 so I can play with my friends.

I know the i7 "future" proofs it, but in my mind if I need the extra oomph for a game, I'll just play it on my desktop. Is the i5 sufficient for basically a back up PC?

i5 should be fine as a back up PC. i7 is really for people wanting to use it as a main PC or so. Id just recommenced at least getting the 1600x900 display. Definitely worth 75$

Just stay away from the Killer Cards...they are very unreliable as performance goes (Mine is just a problem after another, other's work fine...)

p.s. Why in Italy there are no gamer girls :-((
