Looking at the Alienware 14 and was wondering is there a significant bump in performance when going with the i7-4700MQ instead of the i5-4200M? I'll be using this computer to watch HD movies, surf the web, and play steam games. I play everything from RTS to FPS. The difference seems to be about a hundred bucks, but going with the i7 also allows the Bluray drive where as the i5 doesn't....don't quite know why. If it matters its the 1080p screen, 765, and I'll be upgrading to a SSD drive.

    Thanks!

First of all the biggest difference is that the i7 here is a quad core and the i5 isn't

It will depend on the game but games like Borderlands 2, Far cry 3, BF4 as a few examples really benefit from having a quad core.

On a 765m, probably not gonna matter much.

The 4700MQ is what you want.

That's the best one, however the difference isn't much in gaming performance.
