i may as well spend some coin on each.
if you disagree, fine...(although it is a bit weird that you're so interested in how i use my money.) -
-
But that 11" screen is just too small to use for long periods of time.
I think the M14X is well suited to that. It won't run everything on High or Ultra game wise, but it's good for some fragging on the go. The M11X's greatest weakpoint was CPU, but the GPU was surprisingly adept for what it needed to do. The GT 555M's a lot faster. Granted, it's not 460/560 or better, but it's solid overall. -

gaming for sure
gaming more intensly while im traveling
3d-modeling
(not rendering)
some photoshop and other adobe products (for now)
the big one is basically trying to give me two things:
1. superb gaming (online and offline...so anything from SWTOR to the TOTAL WARs)
2. rendering very large animation projects. (and quickly hopefully)
i will do everything on my desktop though, multi-tasking a lot and gaming with multiple instances often...etc. it just needs to be snappy and quick. -
in my experience the manufacturer built PCs are more optimized for the day to day user (bloatware excluded) -
You can't "optomise" a PC for anything. The components in it will do what they do, as well as they can, and that's that.
Day-to-day task - iTunes, web browsing, whatever - will use, maybe 5% of the computer's power. You sure as hell don't need an $8,000 dual-CPU, quad-GPU monstrosity to Sync your freaking iPod. -

you guys... ffs lol, lets just chill out and wait for a decent review maybe ?
-
-
So a dell rep told me to wait a week...any reason you guys (laxxi excluded, you're on ignore for sucking so much) think they would say this?
maybe they are introducing a new GPU next week, probably worth upgrading to right? -
-
is the 460m going to use more power/substantially drain on my battery life? or is it going to be worth it big time?? -
if they enable optimus, battery life should be about the same.
-
i should add that i am assuming you don't game on battery.
-
yea, i only do regular stuff on battery
-
i just imagined a load of people slamming there heads on desks !

Have you thought about the Sager NP8150? It is almost exactly the same weight and size. The only dimension that is much larger is the width - 1.5 inches. The 8150 allows for a 485M and a much nicer choice of screens.
-
im not buying another sager, but thanks
-
What didn't you like about your Sager?

customer support
customer service
having to ship it for repairs
those repairs failing to fix the computer at least twice (and some software attempts)
poorly designed laptops that make noise (especially the high pitched noise) are not for me.
when you drop over 6.5k on a laptop, you'd think it would work and they'd be happy to help fix any issues they may have...you'd think wrong.
look guys, on paper sure they are "the best computers" b/c all of their parts are acquired at the lowest possible cost, and they have really cutting edge equipment, but in truth its not ready for consumers.
these machines are pushed out before they are ready, so most likely you will encounter an issue. and when you do sager/clevo are nowhere to be found, and most importantly are far FAAAR away.
if you want to spend a lot of money, and then a lot of time bickering with their technicians etc. go ahead. its a circus trying to get ahold of someone, and when you do, they are either going to say "ship it and wait 2 weeks" or try this.
either way it may break again, and more importantly you are stuck losing all f your time on a taiwanese PoS.
if you want to risk the hastle for the savings i HIGHLY advise against it, but thats your prerogative...i'd just much prefer the peace of mind, knowing i can go into my nearest best buy and and someone will HAVE to deal with me. AW has some other perks as well... time > money -
purchased, cant wait!
i think i'll get the desktop in like september/august b/c thats when the sales person said they would definitely be updated by -
Selling m11x to a friend, like to think I got a good deal.

AAFES for being military
-
how much money did you save ? i am also in the military
-
If you customized that same model on dells site it would be 1469 plus tax so I figured like 400 dollars. The higher you get the more you save but that was all I needed. I believe you get two day shipping as well.
-
Also I am sure this is a dumb question but I called dell and they are dumb some times so, this is SATA 3 (6Gbps) capable correct
