After installing itunes 10.5 my cpu usage climbed by upto 10%, and when i run itunes its even worse. I checked the task manager and nothing that uses that much cpu is visible. I know for a fact that it has to do with itunes because everything goes back to normal when I uninstall it. Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks,

Go to start, and type in msconfig, hit enter, hit startup, and disable all things from Apple. I think that will keep the CPU down until you actually run iTunes. Although, when you open it, it may stay at that 10 percent usage, this is just a temporary fix until someone with more ideas can help you. Although, why don't you just uninstall it and reinstall an older version?

He probably doesn't want to downgrade to an older version of iTunes because 10.5 is required for iCloud, the new feature that came with iOS 5.

Get an Android problem solved!!! Jks!

Itunes has always been a resource hungry app, what you can do is check your msconfig and try to shut down some of apple's apps that run in the background that are not of any use :p.

Also double check the forums for itunes and see if others are hacing the same problems.

Just a FYI, if you have the bigfoot card, there is a huge problem right now with itunes and the bigfoot manager. There is a thread over on bigfoots forum about it.

Because of this problem with the bigfoot/itunes When I want to use itune, I swap out my hdd and wifi card with my spare ones, I have a whole extra hdd dedicated to just running itunes :( It doesnt even have any music on it either, its just windows and itunes, external with my music.

For me I dont use iPhone, so I'll just keep using the 10.4, since it is not compulsory to have the latest version to run iTune.
