So I awoke a couple days ago to a dead m14x that when turned on gives a singular beep and nothing appears on screen. Called Alienware they informed me I must send the computer to Texas, of course a bit of an inconvience since I use my computer for school. (I did some troubleshooting took everything out except a stick of RAM and always got the same beep code.)

Regardless, for others who have you had to send their computers to Texas to be repaired how long did it take for you to receive your's back? Also did it fail once again after you received it back?

1 Beep means no power, the first stage of starting the system is called: Power good. If it does not complete that stage there isn't much you can do. I'm guessing your problem is a bad battery connection between your battery and the motherboard, or something else on the board. I would not try messing with it yourself. That would void your warranty and then your dead. Send it to Texas. Make sure it is legit

Total time from dropping it @ FedEx to receiving it @ home - 6 days, including the weekend, for me.

I had an electrolyte capacitor fall out about 3 months ago and sent it in, got it back in 5 days (sent it in Monday, got it back the same week on Friday). Pretty good in my opinion, I had to repair my ASUS through best buy before and it took them 2 weeks to reseat the LCD cables, in which it still didnt fix it. I had to threaten them with a lemon law before it got fixed (that if its not fixed by the third time, they have to give me a new system). Not really related but a fun story.
